Tiny Stars

We can't wait to welcome you and your little one to class!

 What to bring to class:

  • Mat or blanket

  • Shaker (rice or dried pasta in Tupperware works perfectly)

  • Drum (cake tin or small box)

As an ethical business, we are always trying to find ways to reduce our environmental impact. The main measure we are implementing is we are asking parents to bring along their own mat to sit on during class, as well as their own instruments for little ones to use. This can be as simple as some tupperware or some dried pasta in a box, but is one of the key ways we are working to reduce our plastic usage. We will have some spares available, which we source second hand, but we are working together to reduce our impact during class. We also want to show you don't need to spend money on fancy toys, little ones love to bang a cake tin or shake some lentils and we love sharing creative ideas of how to make instruments at home.

The 45 minute session includes some social time as well as a check in at the start of the session to help everyone get to know each other. We share tips, local recommendations and are a safe space to share how you're feeling.

As it is a mixed age class, we offer modifications for older or smaller little ones and try seat the group in accordance to their age and developmental stage and we ask those attending to be mindful of each other in the space.

We welcome you to take photos and videos and tag us on social media in any of your lovely memories, howeve we ask you only take photos of your little one and no group shots. We also want you to be able to be fully engaged in class to get the most out of the session so please put phones on silent and avoid using them during the session.

The class includes Makaton sign so feel free to join in with this to pick it up at home as well as plenty of singing opportunities! Those who book termly or monthly have access to our online playlists for you to learn the songs and practice at home with little one!

The 45 minute session incorporates dance, singing and drama and is a chance for little ones to burn off some energy, use their imaginations and learn to work cooperatively with their peers whilst building confidence in a supportive environment.

We've rewritten the rulebook on nursery rhymes and are trying hard to transform the use of gender language in early years development so our curriculum is inclusive, diverse and a genuine reflection of todays society. We'd like to prove there is more to our female characters than dolly and fairy!

Class includes Makaton sign to be SEN inclusive and we teach this to little ones for them to use at home, it's also great for moments of stress or tension as sound is the first sense to be compromised during overwhelm so a visual language is great for these moments.

We also want to ensure you and your little one can get the most out of our sessions so please do let us know if there is anything we can do to make class more accessible for you or if you or your little one have any additional needs we should be aware of or if there is anything we can do to make class more comfortable for you.

We are trying to reduce our environmental impact so don't use any single use plastics in class and will provide children with any equipment that may need for the session which we source second hand.

The session is drop-off, and we know this can be daunting. If this is proving to be too traumatic on the first week then you are welcome to watch from the side. Much like nursery the only way to eventually acheive this is to drop and go and make the departure as short and quick as possible. Drawn out goodbyes or confirmation you are clear to leave can prolong the upset and our team are very experienced in working through this period of anxiety. Kids always participate much better when doing so independently and we found this works amazingly in all of our classes for this age group.

The 2 hour session incorporates 30 minutes of dance, drama and singing as well as some performing time. We have up to 3 members of staff on site who are all professional actors and teach each session in rotation with an extra member of staff to assist with breaks and provide further teaching support.

We are an inclusive, female owned business creating a supporting and welcoming BB Broadway family who are aiming to eradicate gender stereotypes in theatre and encourage confidence and performance skills in a nurturing environment.

We also want to ensure you and your little one can get the most out of our sessions so please do let us know if there is anything we can do to make class more accessible for you or if you or your little one have any additional needs we should be aware of or if there is anything we can do to make class more comfortable for you.

They may want to bring some water with them and clothes they are comfortable moving in. They can also bring one NUT FREE snack with them as we do give them a short break, just one light snack is fine and please ensure it is FREE FROM NUTS as we have allergies amongst our student group. Otherwise they don’t need to bring anything with them other than bags of energy!
